Earth Day

Earth Day

April 22 is Earth Day. In addition to offering several Earth Day resources, the Nature Conservancy has created a Carbon Footprint Calculator to help visitors estimate how many tons of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases their choices create each year. The calculator gathers detailed individual or household information about home energy use as well as driving, flying, food/diet, and recycling/waste habits to determine approximate carbon dioxide creation. The results page features comparisons to average U.S. and worldwide carbon emissions, plus information on how to offset your carbon footprint and other tips for preventing climate change.
