The State of Blogging

In The State of Blogging (4 pages, PDF), the Pew Internet & American Life Project notes that by the end of 2004, 7 percent of the 120 million U.S. adults who use the Internet — or 8 million people — have created a blog, a Web log or Web-based diary; 27 percent, or 32 million, read blogs, a 58 percent jump over a survey conducted ten months earlier; and 12 percent have posted comments on blogs. However, 62 percent of online Americans have no idea what a blog is!
