Chesapeake Bay Habitat Health Report Card: 2006

According to a team of researchers led by scientists from the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, the overall health of the Chesapeake Bay only merits a grade of D+. Their report, Chesapeake Bay Habitat Health Report Card: 2006, rated fifteen regions of the bay using six indicators that were combined to create a single overarching index of habitat health. The report card complements the Chesapeake Bay Program's long-term, bay-wide assessment of the Chesapeake watershed, Chesapeake Bay 2006 Health & Restoration Assessment — Part One: Ecosystem Health (16 pages, PDF) and Part Two: Restoration Efforts (16 pages, PDF).
