Practice Matters: The Improving Philanthropy Project

Practice Matters: The Improving Philanthropy Project is a new series of thought-provoking papers and discussion guides that tackle some of the most compelling "best practice" issues facing grantmakers today. Written by leading experts and practitioners, and published by the Foundation Center in cooperation with Patrizi Associates at the OMG Center for Collaborative Learning, the series offers useful advice and best practice know-how for both novice and experienced grantmakers seeking models of good grantmaking. While many of the papers address specific tools used to enhance the process, others discuss ways of working more broadly to effect social change. Developed with support from the California Endowment and the Robert Wood Johnson, Ewing Marion Kauffman, John S. and James L. Knight, and David and Lucile Packard foundations, the first four papers and discussion guides, and the introduction to the series may be downloaded free of charge at the Foundation Center's Web site: http://fdncenter.org/for_grantmakers/practice_matters.
