The Costs of Out-of-School-Time Programs

According to a new report from the Finance Project, existing studies do not provide the kind of program-cost data that cities need to offer high-quality out-of-school programs. Commissioned by the Wallace Foundation, The Costs of Out-of-School-Time Programs: A Review of the Available Evidence (28 pages, PDF) finds that researchers and practitioners lack a standard methodology for estimating the full costs of implementing such programs. A more comprehensive study will follow in 2007.
