We Dream a World

We Dream a World

A report from the 2025 Campaign for Black Men and Boys, a project of the Twenty-First Century Foundation, envisions a United States where, fifteen years from now, African-American males no longer face structural and institutional racism and lack of equal access to opportunities that prevent many of them from succeeding. The report, We Dream a World: The 2025 Vision for Black Men and Boys (60 pages, PDF), examines the disparities between African-American males and their white peers in the areas of education, health, employment and wealth, fatherhood and families, justice, rights, responsibilities, and opportunities and outlines goals and recommendations for closing the gap. The report calls on policy makers, advocates, and direct service organizations to re-evaluate existing policies to support the needs of African-American males, their families, and their communities; enable communities to create sustainable, systemic solutions; offer new thinking about culturally appropriate and high-quality programming and services; and increase investment in services and interventions for low-income individuals.
