Razoo, a crowdfunding platform for charitable causes, has announced that its online community has raised a total of $100 million for some fourteen thousand nonprofits — more than half of it over the last nine months.
Since 2009, the organization has hosted fifteen "Giving Days" — twenty-four-hour online fundraising competitions — across the country. To mark the $100 million milestone, Razoo is holding a $100 Million Celebration Sweepstakes on its Facebook page, in which supporters can help win prizes of up to $2,500 for a hundred nonprofits.
"Reaching the $100 [million] milestone is just the beginning," said Razoo CEO Lesley Mansford. "The opportunity and Razoo's vision is to build a global giving community focused on the donor, providing a unique experience that is fun, meaningful, and ultimately life-changing. Our belief is that the joy of giving belongs to everyone."
