Gulf Coast Community Foundation Announces $4.2 Million in First-Quarter Grants

The Gulf Coast Community Foundation in Venice, Florida, has announced grants totaling more than $4.2 million to nonprofit organizations across the country.

The majority of grants were awarded from donor-advised funds at the foundation and through the foundation's community grants program, which is supported by unrestricted and field-of-interest funds. The foundation also awarded $47,552 in grants ranging from $70 to $17,000 through its GulfCoastGives site, which funds "urgent" projects at local charities and is funded primarily by online contributions.

Grant recipients in the quarter included the Florida Studio Theatre, which received $349,012 from the Court Family Foundation in support of facility renovations; the Cape Cod Foundation; Doctors Without Borders; Heifer International; the Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the University of Michigan.
