De Beaufort, most recently president of Fourth Sector Consulting in Minneapolis, previously was a vice president at Headwaters Philanthropic Services, a senior account supervisor at Vanguard Communications, a media analyst at ProMarc Agency, an account executive at Matthews Media Group, and a special assistant to a trustee of the Barr Charitable Trust.
The Baltimore-based Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation has announced the appointment of CRAIG DEMCHAK as director of community affairs. Demchak, a broadcast journalist, most recently was an executive producer at WMAR-TV in Baltimore and worked for many years reporting and anchoring for WBFF-TV, also in Baltimore.
The Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, California, has announced the appointment of THAD W. ALLEN as a senior fellow. Allen, currently national incident commander for the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, is retired as commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, where he held many command posts.
The New York Philharmonic has announced the planned retirement of its president, ZARIN MEHTA. Mehta, who will retire after the close of the 2011-12 season, has served in that position for a decade. PND interviewed Mehta in 2009.
