Semper Fi Fund Matching Challenge Raises $5 Million for Wounded, Critically Ill Veterans

The Semper Fi Fund has announced that it raised $5 million through a holiday matching campaign to help support wounded and critically ill veterans.

The total, which is more than double Semper Fi's original two-month campaign goal, was supported by dollar-for-dollar matching donations from the Bob and Renee Parsons Foundation and Web site domain registration site GoDaddy, which Bob Parsons founded and serves as executive chair. After Semper Fi reached its original fundraising goal of $2 million, the Parsons Foundation pledged an additional $1.5 million in matching funds. Funds were raised via Semper Fi's dedicated donation page and at GoDaddy's checkout page, part of the company's program that allows customers to round up their purchase totals to the nearest dollar and effectively donate their spare change.
