Racial Equity Here

Racial Equity Here

Mission: To enlist community-based organizations, local governments, foundations, schools, and businesses in a collective effort to advance racial equity in the United States.

Background: Led by Living Cities, a philanthropic collaborative focused on racial and economic justice, and the Government Alliance on Race and Equity, a joint project of Race Forward and the Haas Institute for a Fair and Inclusive Society, Racial Equity Here is a national movement of community-based organizations, local governments, foundations, schools, and businesses committed to using equity tools to close racial equity gaps, create more equitable communities and workplaces, and improve outcomes for all. Tools on the site are designed to help organizations learn about race, racism, and racial equity; act to advance racial equity; and partner locally and across the country to drive a shared racial equity agenda.

Outstanding Web Features: Visitors to the Racial Equity Here site can explore its main feature, an interactive map, by geography (organizations in specific communities that have made "commitments to action") and issue area and organization type (using the dropdown menus at the top). Organizations also are invited to learn more about race, racism, and racial equity; commit to three actions to make racial equity an explicit part of their work; and partner locally and nationally to drive a shared racial equity agenda.
